Event Info Window
To open an Event window, you can press the Edit button
in the Schedules window or double-click the event in the list.
An event is a scheduled action, such as one that operates a device. Some controllers such as the CM-17A FireCracker do not support scheduled events and some, such as the CP-290, support a limited set of actions.
Changes are automatically saved as soon as they are made. No separate steps are required to store a revised schedule.
Name |
You can provide any name for an event. Event names do not need to be unique. |
Description |
Optional notes about the event. |
Days of Week |
An event can be scheduled for every day of the week or for any combination of individual days. |
Time |
The time of day when the event actions will be carried out. |
Security |
The actual time that the event actions are carried out can be varied from day to day. This option can help make a home appear occupied when you are out of town. |
Sun |
Some events are best carried out relative to sunset or sunrise. For example, you may want exterior lighting to come after the sun sets. The time will vary throughout the year and will depend on your time zone and location. You can set your location in the Thinking Home Preferences window. |
Actions |
Typical actions taken by a controller are turning lights on and off, or dimming and brightening. The Mac can also take other actions, such as sending email or instant messages (even to a cell phone), logging, opening web pages and files, running scripts and more. For more info about actions, see Editing Actions. |
